What does "canturn" stand for?
Being an environmentally conscious person, I recycle. I am also an artist. I put the 2 together and "can turn" a recycled product into a canturn or a candle holder. Hence the name canturn-a mix of the the 2 words.
Upcoming Fairs and Events
In the following weeks and months I will be in the central Massachussetts area at the following fairs. Spring and Summer 2005 shows will be listed soon.

About Canturns and Me!
Hi & welcome to my site. It is very new so please be patient with it's...newness.

My recycled tin art is one one of the ways I like to express myself. By working with materials that would have either been recycled or thrown away I feel that I am doing my part to help keep the planet clean.

The candle holders and lanterns(canturns) are all made from vegetable, fruit, and coffee cans. I then burn the designs on the can itself with a fine tipped jewelers torch. I am often asked if I perform this with a pattern or if I trace the design. I do not. All of my work is done "free-hand" meaning that each one of my designs is unique and original. But, I definitely have my favorites.

I have been working on this art now for about 6 years now. I first picked it up in California, where I believe the idea originated in the late 60's. There are several people around the country and it is exciting to see that people are still Earth conscious and creative to work with recycled materials.

I am happy to take this special art to new and inventive levels.

I do sell my candle holders!!!!
If you are interested in purchasing a candle holder from my web site please send me an email and I will respond as quickly as possible. I am working on an on-line purchasing line but that may take some time.
